My name is Andrei Obreja and I was born in in a Romanian family in Cyprus in 2007. Both my parents are from Piatra Neamt, a beautiful city in the North-Eastern Romania.
We moved to US in 2008, settled in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Seattle area. I have a younger brother born in US, the entire family became naturalized American citizens in 2017..
I am a junior at Skyline High School in Sammamish (East of Seattle) and have a passion for computer science, music producing, fashion, business. A couple of years ago I started my own clothing “company” Sedulous – under quotes as it’s not incorporated 🙂 – and for the Summer of 2025 I was looking for an opportunity to do something fun in Romania. I got to better know the country during the pandemic period, we moved as a family for 9 months when I was in 8th grade, travelled a lot in Moldova, Bucovina, Ardeal.
After talking to my parents the idea came that maybe I should organize something fun that combines some of my passions – coding, meeting people, teaching others. During the winter break I started putting together a plan, slowly things started shaping up for a pilot of a camp during the summer. If this is going to be a success – actually not if, when this will be a success 🙂 – I will start thinking at bigger events, my younger brother Daniel will help me as well, and maybe one day take over the organization.
